Jennie has a track-record of delivering complex projects with multiple cultural partners and works with organisations to strengthen their resilience. She influences buy-in from stakeholders, levers in match funding to support capacity building and re-imagines services so that they are relevant to local communities.
Since 2019, Jennie has coordinated Museums Development UK providing strategic support, communications, business planning and advocacy. She previously managed the Cumbria Museum Consortium’s NPO programme (2014-16) developing collaborative initiatives across the county for schools and tourism.
Jennie was the original architect and chief fundraiser for Pennine Lancashire Museums which, in 2014 was in receipt of £1.2 million from Arts Council England and the Department of Education. Contracted by Museum Development NW, Jennie delivered a programme of organisational resilience for six regional museums (2014-15).

Jennie has extensive experience facilitating workshops and delivering workforce development programmes for the culture sector. She also delivers visioning days and stakeholder engagement events to underpin project planning and development.
Jennie is a Museum Accreditation Adviser for Museum Development North West (2019-present) delivering a programme of support and training focused on governance, collections management and audience development. She has delivered Accreditation workshops for museums in the West Midlands and acted as Accreditation Adviser for Arts Council England (2011-15).
Jennie has delivered planning and visioning workshops for clients including Greater Manchester Museums Group, Pennine Lancashire Museums, Cumbria Museum Consortium, Wordsworth Grasmere, North Craven Building Preservation Trust, and Museum Development UK.
project planning / fundraising / evaluation
Jennie provides full cycle project planning; from delivering options appraisals and working with clients to write funding applications to practical project support, reporting and evaluation. She has a proven track record of managing complex projects.
Jennie created and led Renaissance North West’s regional museum development infrastructure and managed the Cumbria Museum Consortium’s Arts Council England funded NPO programme.
Jennie has written successful funding applications to National Lottery Heritage Fund, Arts Council England, trusts and foundations.
From 2018-21, Jennie was part of a consultancy team contracted by Wordsworth Grasmere to evaluate a National Lottery Heritage Funded capital project, leading on measuring outcomes for the health, wellbeing and volunteering programmes. In 2021 she evaluated the Art Fund and MDUK’s Covid-19 recovery grant programme.
people-centered programming / audience development
Jennie creates activities that tell stories and enable people to learn together; connecting visitors with heritage and the arts in an inclusive and accessible way. She’s also an experienced activity planner for Arts Council and National Lottery Heritage Fund projects.
In 2021 Jennie worked with Normand Nicholson House Community Interest Company to develop their business, activity and audience plans for a museum and community hub for wellbeing in Millom, Cumbria. Previously, Jennie transformed the visitor experience at Blackwell House, Bowness, with family friendly programmes, new interpretation, immersive engagement spaces, play, games and digital interactives winning Blackwell Cumbria Tourism’s Culture & Heritage Experience of the Year 2018.
Jennie reanimated the textile galleries at Gawthorpe Hall, making them more relevant to more people. She worked with textile designers, graduates, artists, volunteers and the community to create a hub of creativity in the heart of Padiham, Burnley.
Jennie has drafted audience development plans for small heritage CIC’s to large NPO museums and planned the inaugural schools and families programme at Windermere Jetty Museum.
